For Your Garden

“Nature is the inspiration for ornamentation”
Frank Lloyd Wright

In keeping with this philosophy, Farthingale Stone has gathered together some of the finest handmade limestone garden ornaments available on today’s market. Why limestone?

The art of casting limestone has changed very little since it’s inception in 1138 AD. By selectively crushing only limestone aggregate and mixing it with neutral fillers and binders such as white silica sand and white Portland cement, the resulting ornament is dense, free from voids, and maintains all of the natural properties of the stone from which it was cast. Why is this important?

Limestone garden ornaments will age naturally. Unlike concrete, which requires staining or painting to add character, limestone is porous and absorbs water. Given the right environment in the garden, your limestone ornaments will attract moss and lichen in shaded areas and the color and texture will mellow over time. Limestone garden ornaments actually appreciate in value as they age.

Limestone ornaments are available in three (3) colors –

  • Portland - light buff
  • Bath – light yellow
  • Terra Cotta – burnt orange
